Happy Half Birthday!!!

He was smiling at Grady in this. :)

These pictures are going to get harder and harder to take...

Why can't I be on my tummy?

It's more fun anyway!

Seriously? Is Isaiah really six months already? There are days when I absolutely believe this because he is acting so much older and developing more of a personality and his motor skills are spot on. Then there are other days I'm reminded of how quickly life goes. It wasn't that long ago we were bringing home a tiny little bundle to our 1 bedroom apartment in San Diego.

This last month was a big one for our family and for Mr. Isaiah. We are heading out to meet with the mortgage guy in a week or so and starting the REAL house hunt! Darren started his job 4 weeks ago and he is doing awesome. Often times we look at each other because we can't believe we are really HERE! We did it, we made it, and we came back because wanted to, not because we had to. Life is great and we are so excited to created a HOME for Isaiah.

Enough sappy stuff. Here's what the little man is up to:

Sleeping: Generally, he sleeps between 8-9 p.m. until 6-7 a.m. He has had several nights where he wakes up earlier and just gets in our bed to cuddle. Even though it can be exhausting, I LOVE it! One day Darren and I will not be cool any more so we're soaking it up.

Eating: He's just started to cut way back on nursing (only about 4-5 times each day instead of 6-7). He gets two "solid" meals each day. One at 9 a.m. and the other around 5 or 6 p.m. So far he likes rice cereal, sweet potatoes, carrots, apples, and squash (kind of...he's tried acorn and butternut). He DOES NOT like peas. I'm not sure if I blame him.

Favorite words: RAAAAAHHHH!!! Da-da-da-da-da-da!!! DAT! HUH?! (He goes back and forth in response to someone saying it to him - hilarious!) He also squeals in excitement all the time and giggles spontaneously (like if Grady licks his hand or is playing with his toy, etc.)

Favorite songs: Bringing home a baby bumble bee, Rock-A-Bye Baby, The Wheels on the Bus.

He rolls over both ways still but not as often because he can sit by himself and prefers doing that. He loves to jump in his jumper and saucer (even though it doesn't bounce). He's silly and sweet and usually just wants me when he gets upset. He reaches for people and things even if they're out of reach. He LOVES Grady and pets him and hugs him. Grady is starting to come around but he's still nervous since Isaiah has pulled his hair a few times.

We won't be going in for his 6 month check up until September 1st because of switching insurance, etc. but my guess is he weighs 22 lbs. and about 27 inches long. :)

  1. What a sweetie!! He looks like your dad in a few of those pictures. I love it! :) I couldn't be happier for you and Darren. How wonderful to be back in Washington, near family and buying a house! Exciting times!
