29 Weeks! Time to Get Things in Order!

We are 29 weeks and things are right on schedule! We had our checkup today - I've gained another 5 pounds (yay!) and Isaiah's heartbeat is still nice and strong. I'm also measuring right on schedule (29 cm for 29 weeks from pubic bone to top of the uterus). Maybe we have a due date baby!

We also found our pediatrician and I've got our hospital admission form in the mail. Birthing class starts tomorrow too - I'm really starting to feel prepared. All that's left is to wash Isaiah's clothes, make and freeze dinners, and get his car seat. Let's get this show on the road!

Your baby is growing rapidly now. This week he weighs about 2 1/2 pounds (like a butternut squash) and is a tad over 15 inches long from head to heel. His muscles and lungs are continuing to mature, and his head is getting bigger to accommodate his growing brain – which is busy developing billions of neurons. Every day, about 200 milligrams of calcium is deposited in your baby's skeleton, which is now hardening. With this rapid growth, it's no surprise that your baby's nutritional needs reach their peak during this trimester.
